Waseca Area Foundation Contributor Recognition Open House - Community Welcome
Contributors to the Waseca Area Foundation will be recognized at an Open House on Monday, May 19, From 4 PM to 6 PM at the Waseca County Historical Society Museum.
WAF has been blessed with generous contributions over the past year and for the 14 years it has been in existence. The mission of WAF is to build a permanent foundation of privately donated funds to meet the changing needs of our community through grants and initiatives in the Waseca area. Established with the profits from the 1988 all school reunion and the sale of the book The Streets are Wider Now, the foundation’s family of funds has grown to over a million dollars in current and deferred assets. In addition to generous gifts by the community to the general WAF Endowment a number of individuals or families have established named funds to benefit Waseca. These funds include: The James B. Corchran Memorial Fund, the W.H. and Estelle Rethwill Fund, the Bud Schmidt Trucking Company Fund, the Waseca High School Class of 1970 Fund, the John and Jane King Fund, the Harold H. and Gertrude Sturner Memorial Fund, the Rutledge Family Fund, the Dr. Robert M. and Helen C. Collins Fund, Herb Streitz Memorial Band Fund, the John W. Priebe Family Foundation fund, the Edgar and Ethel Johnson Fund, the City of Waseca Beautification Fund and the Class of 1960 Community Scholarship Fund. Organizations that have established endowment funds include: the Waseca County Historical Society, the Waseca Arts Council, the Waseca Area Memorial Hospital, and Waseca Area Hospice.
