WASECA AREA FOUDATION ANNOUNCES NEW FUND TO BENEFIT NURSING HOME RESIDENTS
The Waseca Area Foundation is proud to welcome the Owatonna and Waseca Charity Fund to its family of funds. According to Pat Abbe, Executive director, “This is the first WAF fund designed specifically to benefit nursing home residents. The WAF board is excited about helping to meet the needs of the elderly.” The purpose of the fund is to provide matching dollars for the purchase of nursing home equipment to enhance the lives of nursing home residents.
This fund was established by Harold D. Schroeder in response to the need for reclining wheel chairs in local nursing home facilities. Mr. Schroeder said, “severe patients should have this (reclining wheel chairs) to make life a little more comfortable”.
This fund is part of the Waseca Area Foundation family of funds and invested with the Minnesota Community Foundation.
Charitable care facilities will apply for matching grants to assist in the purchase of the chairs and other life enhancing equipment for their residents.
Your help is needed to build this fund to improve the lives of residents in local care facilities. All donations are tax deductible.
