ITRON GIVES $5000 TO WASECA AREA FOUNDATION

The Waseca Area Foundation received a check for $5000 from the ITRON, Inc. headquarters in Spokane, Washington. When contacted to acknowledge receipt of the donation Carole Moore, Manager of Staffing said, “We want to be a part of the communities we’re in and look for programs that impact the communities we serve”.

ITRON manufactures automated meter readers for worldwide distribution. Bob Whitney, Director of Manufacturing was pleased that the company decided to contribute to the Waseca Area Foundation. According to Bob – “ITRON is definitely a member of the community and we look for ways to give to Waseca through volunteer work and contributions to make our presence felt”.

The Waseca Area Foundation (WAF) is a local public charity that exists to build and administer funds for the betterment of the Waseca area. Pat Abbe, Executive Director of the foundation said, “It is exciting to see a company with headquarters across the country operating in Waseca value their distant sites and generously demonstrate their commitment through a direct gift to the community”.

WAF is governed by a board of local citizens representing a cross section of the community. Gifts to the foundation are permanently invested and earnings from these gifts will fund projects in the community into perpetuity.
