2007 Year-end Holiday Letter

Bells are ringing, children singing……….. When I hear bells I’m reminded of the many purposes bells have in my life. Some bells call to worship. Other bells announce disaster and alert neighbors to help one another. A bell may simply mark the hour. Bells let freedom ring. Giving to the Waseca Area Foundation is one way to answer the call of the bell by giving hope for the future, granting community wishes and providing direction for the future of the Waseca area.

The Waseca Area Foundation asks that you consider making a 2007 year-end gift to the savings account of the community. As that savings account, the Waseca Area Foundation is a perfect receptor for making special gifts while tax planning. All year-end gifts are tax deductible.

The Waseca Area Foundation is built with both small and large contributions from all citizens in the community to better the community now and into the future. All dollars contributed are saved and earnings are given back to the community through grants for needed projects and enhancements. This maintains a principal that will continue to grow and give back to the community into perpetuity.

Many give gifts through the foundation as a memorial to someone they love, or an honorarium to recognize an individual, organization, or business that is special in some way. Sometimes gifts are given to celebrate a special event or occasion. An IRA distribution provision of the Pension and Protection Act of 2006 allows anyone 70 ½ or older to transfer up to $100,000 directly from their IRA to a charity without income tax on the distribution. This transfer must be directly to a charity or charitable fund and is good only until the end of 2007. (Donor advised funds do not qualify for this special provision All year- end gifts are tax deductible.

When you hear bells ringing and children singing..….. provide hope for the continuation of the quality of life in the Waseca area by giving to a community that has given to you.
