2001 Annual Report Preface

The Waseca Area Foundation continues to grow as a community fund by helping donors give back to the community.

The Waseca Area Foundation now has 22 funds in its family of funds. Some of these funds are named to honor or memorialize individuals, businesses, and high school classes. Other funds are attached to non-profit organizations.

In 2001, the family of funds current assets grew to $817,484. Deferred assets bring the value well over $1million. That is an increase of almost 9 percent over 2000. Contributions of $143,944 were received into the family of funds. The Foundation’s board managed 11 grants totaled nearly $11,000. The Foundation’s grant committee also worked with the NorAm Minnegasco Foundation (formerly the E.F. Johnson Foundation) to award 31grants totaling $110,779.

With more than a decade of service to Waseca, the Waseca Area Foundation continues to fulfill its mission – enhancing philanthropy by attracting and building privately donated funds to meet the charitable needs of the Waseca area now and into the future.

We deeply appreciate the confidence and trust our contributors have given us. We will do all we can to continue to earn that trust as we move into another exciting year.

Sincerely,

Stan Hup, Chair
